After AMOLED screens occupy the mobile phone market, everyone is forced to pay attention to the knowledge of eye protection. The most eye-protecting screen is naturally the non-luminous E Ink electronic ink screen. But black and white, low refresh rate and price have always been the main reasons why E Ink ink screens cannot be promoted. The most famous E Ink device is Amazon's Kindle series of electronic paper book products.
On January 19, the core manufacturer of ink screen Yuantai Technology officially released the latest second-generation ACeP "color electronic paper" E Ink Gallery 4100.
E Ink Yuantai Technology released the first generation of "ACeP (advanced color electronic paper)" in 2016. At that time, it used multiple colors of pigments in the electrophoretic fluid to display different colors while maintaining low power consumption. And color image display. However, this version requires a heavy glass color filter, which is thicker and less transparent, and is not suitable for use in e-book readers (mainly used in electronic billboards).

In 2019, E Ink Yuantai Technology came up with Kaleido color electronic paper technology, which appeared on the later Hisense color ink screen mobile phone. The new product E Ink Gallery 4100 discards the original glass color filter, and the color layer is directly attached to the electronic ink film, reducing the thickness and weight. A single-layer electrophoresis solution with multiple primary colors (in a microcapsule or microcup structure) changes color under the control of TFT. This generation can display 4 million colors, with faster refresh speed and less ghosting.
The newly released second-generation ACeP "color electronic paper" development kit has been sent to e-reader manufacturers. The first commercial products may not be released until 2022. But it is estimated that the price will still be more touching.
